Beaker Button was established in 2011 with the aim of providing natural fibres, beautiful yarns and crafting tools for a more sumptious crafting experience. We have gained a reputation for teaching excellence in a range of woolly crafts, including Dorset button making, knitting, crochet, felting, spinning, weaving, dyeing and one to one pattern and project support. We cater to everyone from complete beginners to expert crafters. We also teach group workshops outside of the shop by arrangement.
We design and produce an extensive range of our own brand Dorset button kits, books and patterns. Our yarn and threads are dyed to complement our range, and we stock a large range of rings for button making. We also stock Malabrigo, Manos del Uruguay, Regia, Adriafil, West Yorkshire Spinners, Jaimeson and Smith (Shetland Wool Brokers) yarns. For tools we have Knitpro needles and accessories, and we stock local to us with Fleece Loved Products accessories, and Riply's Craft Emporium bags and needle cases.
We have a good range of fibre for felting and spinning, and we stock locally made Through the Rainbow needle felting kits. We also stock needles, foam and other felting tools. We also stock Tintica natural dyeing kits.
We're a little obsessive about books and have all sorts of woolly topics covered, from pattern books to support our yarns to learning new skills like macrame, dyeing, felting and spinning.
