Specialist in Embroidery and tutor for some distance courses. City & Guilds Level 3 and Diploma Embroidery, Level 3 Patchwork & Quilting, Teaching Cert, BTEC Diploma in Art & Design, B’ Des (Hons) specialising in design for Textiles & Metal, Post Grad Cert in Education, MA in e-Learning, a near completed PhD in Education, interest in graphics & computer aided design.

Marj Rutter
Marj has a strong interest in textiles of all types and has a number of City & Guilds certificates in Embroidery and Art & Design. She also has numerous qualifications in computer and business studies and has worked as a project manager and IT/IS manager for a number of years. Marj tutors distance Level 2 courses for SST in  a variety of topics.

Beryl Burton
Specialist in Patchwork and Quilting. Tutor for the Patchwork modules of the distance learning courses and teaches extensively at Eccles Farm. Beryl takes several weekly patchwork and quilting groups, as well as sampler quilt courses. Qualifications: City & Guilds certificates in Embroidery, Patchwork & Quilting, Lingerie and Dressmaking, Teaching Certificate.

Jeanette Ranson
Specialist in Doll Making. Jeanette has taken her Doll Making Classes at Eccles Farm for over four years. Her classes have gone from strength to strength, and the school now has a waiting list for those wishing to start this fascinating hobby. Jeanette also has a strong interest in patchwork and stumpwork.

Janet Gledhill
Janet completed both her City & Guilds Level 3 and Diploma in Patchwork & Quilting at Eccles Farm. She tutors the Design for Craft and Research for Craft element of the C&G courses, and also co-tutors both attended C&G courses in Patchwork & Quilting and Embroidery. She also tutors L2 and L3 patchwork courses by distance.

Karen Quickfall
Karen completed her City & Guilds Level 3 and Diploma in Embroidery at Eccles Farm a number of years ago and has since specialised in Stumpwork, Needle Lace and Ruskin Lace - a type of Embroidery crossing Needle Lace and Counted Thread work - indigenous to the Lake District in the north of England. Karen tutors distance Stumpwork courses.

Ann Christy
A primary school teacher before working in Adult Education, Ann completed her C&G L3 in Creative Embroidery in July 2005 and Creative Sketchbooks C&G in 2006. She is IT Rep for the North West Region of the Embroiderers’ Guild and a freelance textile artist. She is a member of Embroidery 2000 - a group of textile artists based in the North West.
