Gail Cowley
Specialist in Embroidery - Tutor for the distance courses and some courses at Eccles Farm
Qualifications: Level 3 and Diploma in Embroidery and Level 3 in Patchwork and Quilting, Teaching Certificate, BTEC Diploma in Art and Design, B’ Des (Honours), specialising in designing for Textiles and Metal. Post Graduate Certificate in Education. MA in e-learning. Currently undertaking research to complete her Doctorate in Education.
Gail also has a strong interest in graphics and computer aided design. |
Beryl Burton
Specialist in Patchwork and Quilting - Tutor for the Patchwork modules of the distance learning courses and teaches extensively at Eccles Farm.
Beryl takes several weekly patchwork and quilting groups, as well as sampler quilt courses
Qualifications: City & Guilds certificates in Embroidery, Patchwork and Quilting, Lingerie and Dressmaking, Teaching Certificate. |
Jeanette Ranson
Specialist in Doll Making.
Has taken doll classes at Eccles Farm for the last 4 years which have gone from strength to strength and now have waiting lists for those wishing to start.this fascinating hobby.
Jeanetter also with a strong interest in patchwork, stumpwork and patchwork. |
Janet Gledhill
Janet completed both her City & Guilds Level 3 and Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting at Eccles Farm. She has had an interest in stitched and creative crafts for many years and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge.
Janet tutors the Design for Craft and Research for Craft element of the C&G courses and also co-tutors both attended C&G courses in Patchwork and Quilting and Embroidery. |
Karen Quickfall
Karen completed her City & Guilds parts 1 and 2 in embroidery at Eccles Farm a number of years ago and has since specialised in Stumpwork, Needle lace and a type of embroidery which is a cross between needle lace and counted thread work and is indigenous to the Lake District in the north of England, called Ruskin Lace work.
Karen is also a member of the One Step On Group and the Embroiderers Guild. |
Ann Christy
Originally a primary school teacher and then working in Adult Education teaching Information Technology to teachers, parents and beginners, Ann completed her City & Guilds L3 in Creative Embroidery as a Distance Learner with the School of Stitched Textiles in July 2005. She also completed Creative Sketchbooks C&G course online in 2006.
Ann is the IT Rep for the North West Region of the Embroiderers’ Guild and a freelance textile artist. www.annchristy.co.uk. Also a member of Embroidery 2000, a group of textile artists based in the North West, she wrote and tutors our C&G Creative Computing into Stitched Textiles course. |
